This is my general packing list for European trips. You may need to add a coat if traveling in the cooler months, but this should give you a good starting point.

Walking shoes (2 pair)
Cardigan or sweater
Travel alarm clock or cell phone
Backup glasses/contact lenses
Sunglasses
Remote battery charger (for your phone or tablet)
Wallet
Electrical converter (European configuration)
Backpack
Any medications (labeled with prescriptions)
Toiletries (travel sizes)
Toothbrush/floss
Credit/debit cards and contact information
Be sure to call your bank, and credit card companies before you leave.
Be sure to have an international calling plan added to your phone.
